1. MICRONUTRIENT DEFICIENCIES…
Many people have heard the term and think about their MACRO-nutrients (macros for short) which are your carbs, protein, and fat. What most people DON’T think about is their micro-nutrients or their vitamin and mineral consumption which many people are chronically deficient even if they are eating a balanced and healthy diet.
The reason being that our soil has been so over-farmed for many years that much of the vitamin/ mineral content is depleted. The fix is making sure you take a good multi-vitamin like we give our clients when they join FBBC.
2. BIG MEALS AT NIGHT….
Have you ever wondered how sumo wrestlers get so big?? It is because they intentionally eat a huge meal at night before going bed! The reason being is that the majority of their calories are being consumed at the time of day when they are burning the least amount of fuel.
So what happens???
That huge meal is mostly stored as fat!! Since most of us are not trying to look like sumo wrestlers, the key is making sure we consume the majority of our calories earlier in the day along with making sure the last meal is around 6-7pm (if on a regular schedule).
You also want to ideally make your last meal a lean protein and veggies such as chicken and salad to minimize the insulin response at night.
3. WORKING OUT THE WRONG WAY…
Have you ever finished a workout on the treadmill or elyptical, sweaty, and feeling like you got a workout in? You feel good but know you could have done more.
Then after a few weeks of this you step on the scale and see almost no change!!
Super demoralizing right??
